Oscar Scheetz, 74, of 202 Floral Drive, died Sunday in the Michigan Veterans Facility in Grand Rapids, where he had been a patient since Jan. 19. He had been ill since last October.

He was born in Jackson, and had resided in Battle Creek since 1953, when he retired from the U.S. Army as a master sergeant. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War.

After his retirement, he was employed by the U.S. Register Co. for 17 years as a press operator. He attended the Springfield Assembly of God.

He is survived by his wife, the former Lillian M. Wasmundt; a daughter, Mrs. Beverly K. Green of 202 Floral Drive; stepdaughters, Mrs. Charlotte Taylor of Battle Creek, and Mrs. Dean (Marilyn) Hebert of Green Bay, Wis.; a stepson, Merrill Kies of Kalamazoo; 10 grandchildren; and a brother, Adolph Scheetz of East Petersburg, Pa.
