David son of John Kirk and Uretta McGee in Hamiota Cem: David married in Kirkton Ontario March 4, 1889 to Sarah Shier Conn a widow of James Conn with two sons: William Albert Conn and Robert Adam Conn.
David was on the homestead ap with his parents in 1888, then purchased his own land S.W. quarter of 20-14-24. and worked 7 acres returning to Ontario to bring back his parents in the spring of 1889. Prior to the move his brother Samual married in Feb and then he married March to Sarah Shier and returned to the new homestead in Chuma District Hamiota MB by settlers train with his parents and family. David and Sarah had three children together.

David Kirk and family, Robert and Albert Conn, Ernie , Florence and Hiram where listed in the district and Florence was in the choir all very musical and loved sports, boys played hockey and baseball. 1907 David and his two sons Ernest and Hiram came to Marchwell Saks to obtain homestead,
Step son Albert Conn and son in law Dan Orth were already there.
Obtained section of land 5-20-30 and built a new house that is still being used today They called the farm Hillview Farms
David planted tress every summer and farmed the land
1907-1910 he spent winters at Hamiota MB when the trees produced seeds, the seeds were gathered by the family, bagged and shipped to the Peter Kennedy farm at conquest Sask. Seed then were sent to outlook and Milden Sask and distributed to other areas of Manitoba and Sask. The intention was to plant trees around every 80 acres of land for shelter, wood and to prevent soil erosion.
Coil oil lamp was left lit in the night many a homeless person found food and shelter in their home.
David would buy some E.D. Smith tomatoes and few tins of sardines, this was a treat for the family
1909 was the last time that David and Sarah Shier Conn spent winter in Chuma. They then sold the land in Chuma to John Stewart then it sold to Ronald houck. They then moved everything to the new home in what would be Ingleside North of Sarah`s son Albert and wife Alice

-Samual Ernest September 6, 1890-1965 m Gertrude Cochran 3 chld: Eileen who married Henry Yont lived in Marchwell Sask. Having Myrna, Ellis, Stanley and Heather. Lloyd Married Joyce Ewan Elmond Marron having Lynn and Allan they lived in the original David J Kirk house. Wilfred married Doris whisten of Luciester England having Brian Wilford and Trevor Collin. Wilfred lived on the same David J Farm site.

- Wilfred Hiram 1894-March 14, 1920 26 yrs. Kirk died on July 30, 2009 from the effects of pneumonia in hospital his homestead was NE 28-14-24
-James Lloyd Kirk Jr died March 5, 1919 28 in WW1
-James F Kirk December 21 1920 missing in action Feb 24, 1943 WW2
