William Edward "Eddie" Stanley, 70, of 4604 Maple St., North Little Rock, a retired employee of the Veterans Administration Medical Center-Little Rock, North Little Rock Division, died Wednesday. Stanley was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the China Burma India Veterans Association. Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at North Little Rock Funeral Home by the Rev. Leon Wilson. Burial will be in Vilonia Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Levy United Methodist Church or to the American Cancer Society. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Tommy Rayda Sowell Stanley; a daughter, Mrs. Barbara Jean Stanley Whisnant of Conway; two sisters, Mrs. Erkle Goss of North Little Rock and Mrs. Aretha "Rethie" Shannon of Vilonia, and two grandchildren.

William Edward Stanley, 70, of North Little Rock, father of Mrs. Barbara Jean Stanley Whisnant of Conway and brother of Mrs. Aretha Shannon of Vilonia and Mrs. Erkle Goss of North Little Rock, died yesterday (Aug. 19, 1987).

He was a retired Veterans Administration employee, was stationed with the Army's 142nd General Hospital at Calcutta during World War II and was a member of the China-Burma-Inda Veterans Association and Levy Methodist Church.

Other Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Tommy Rayda Sowell Stanley and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. tomorrow at North Little Rock Funeral Home with the Rev. Leon Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Vilonia Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Levy United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.
