LACEY, WA - RICHARD ALLEN ABBOTT passed away on August 1, 2013 at the age of 63 surrounded by his loving family in Lacey, Washington. Richard was born on April 21, 1950 to Robert and Olivia Abbott in Mission, Texas.

Richard grew up in Mission, TX where he graduated from Mission High School in 1970. Four years later he married Norma Alicia Lopez on April 18, 1974. Richard honorably served his country with the US Army from 1971-1993, and then worked as a security director at Westfield Shopping Center Capital Mall. Richard enjoyed spending time playing golf, working crossword puzzles and supporting the Dallas Cowboys. He will be remembered for his kind, selfless, generous, warm hearted, fun loving nature.

Richard is survived by his wife, Norma; their 3 sons; Richard Jr of Lacey, WA, Shawn of Gulfport, MS and Kenneth of Lacey, WA, brothers; Robert Jr (Irene) of Mission, TX, Charles of Edinburg, TX, Larry (Idalia) of Edinburg, TX and Rudy of McAllen, TX, sister; Barbara Barrera (Leonel) of McAllen, TX, and grandchildren; Julian O'Connor and Sophia Abbott.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents; Robert and Olivia Abbott.

A memorial mass will be at 10:00am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church Hall on August 21st with inurnment to follow at 11:00am at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery.
