Elizabeth Mae White hailed from Washington County Florida and was born to a long line of Whites, farmers, in Washington County. They moved to Florida from Georgia in the early 1870's. Her father was Thomas Alcus White and her mother (I think) was Martha Jane Allen. Her mother died when she was very young. That is all I remember ever being told about her mother except my step-great grandmother, Lannie, once told me that my middle name, Allen, was taken from my great grandmother's maiden name.

Granny Weeks once told me she met Pa Weeks in Alabama while staying with an Aunt in Geneva County.

Pa (Collis) and Granny (Mae) had four children. They are Mary Inez Weeks Davidson, Ruby Pearl Weeks Nichols Huckaby, Collis Roland Weeks (my father), and Alice Hazel Weeks Holt.

My grandparents moved across the road from Traveler's Rest Baptist Church in the 1940's. Pa Weeks was a farmer as were many generations of his ancestors and Granny Weeks worked at Carr Elementary in the lunchroom for many years along with my Aunt Ruby.

Granny Weeks passed away due to blood clots as a result of a fractured hip.

We miss you so much Granny. We will always remember and love you more than we can ever say.
