Aunt of Elizabeth Mae White Weeks.

1st Husband
James Monroe "Jimmy" Chesnut (1859-1929)- They married in 1896 but never had children. He already had a house full and she helped raise them.

2nd Husband
?? Sasnett (?-?) - I have not been able to find out anything on this husband. They never had children having married later in life.

Aunt Gracie lived with my grandparents Mae and Collis Weeks for the last 5 years or so of her life. She was my grandmother's father's sister. She and her husband's health was failing and they no longer could live independently. My grandmother was not able to care for them both, so his family took him in and my grandparents took her in because she refused to allow her aunt to be placed into a nursing home. This really developed into a family struggle between the Sasnett and Weeks families. As far as I know, Aunt Gracie and her husband never saw each other again before they passed away.

If anyone can assist with information about Uncle Sasnett or provide any information I don't have, I would really appreciate it. I was very young and may have missed much information. At any rate, this was a very sad chapter in our family's history and one I would rather not be repeated.

I can be reached via email at [email protected] or on Ancestry.com at my family tree http://trees.ancestry.com/tree/59912135 .
