William Wesley Wofford married Martha Ann Luther on October 17, 1867 in Hall County. Their children were Albert J., Precia Caldonia "Donnie," Charles M., Baxter Monroe, Minnie Ella, William Lonzo, Benjamin Harrison, Ida May, Rosey Jane Maud, Ernest, and Estin Erly. Bill and Martha Ann lost five of their eleven children prior to their own deaths. They faced other hardships such as the loss of their home to fire in March, 1913. Bill lost his wife in 1921, and on Feb. 27, 1925 he died of the flu. William Wesley Wofford was an accomplished millwright, a trade which he learned from his father.

UNCLE BILL REMEMBERED
Uncle Bill (W. W.) Wofford was 74 years old on December 16, 1919. He has been in bad health for sometime, hence when all his children, and many grandchildren, gathered around him on that day it came as a great surprise and so cheered and helped him that he came pretty near "cuttin' the pigeon wing." Each of his children present gave him a five dollar bill and otherwise cheered the old gentleman until he felt strong and young again. The children present were: Messrs. Albert J., Charles M. and B. Harrison Wofford, Mrs. Minnie Vandiver, Mrs. A. J. Brock and Mrs. Jack Howard. Uncle Bill is well-known throughout this section, having been a millwright of no mean ability. For twenty years or more he served as Tyler of Gainesville Lodge No. 215, F. & A. M.
