Midwest City resident James Arville "Buddy" Abbott, 85, died Monday August 15, in Midwest City.

He was born October 22, 1919, in Cushing to L.A. Abbott and Vergie Woody-Abbott.

He was a graduate of Shamrock High School and then attendedOklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee. He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army.

James married April 17, 1937, to Pearl Lucille Johnson in Drumright. She proceeded him in death March 29, 1994.

He moved to Shawnee in 1942 and was a Baptist Minister at Temple Baptist Church for many years. James had worked at Tinker Air Force Base in Midwest City as well.

He also was proceded in death by his father and mother.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law Shirley and Jack Lane of Shawnee; son and daughter-in-law, Davis and Carol Abbott of Del City; brother; William T. Abbott of Wichita Kansas; two sisters, Betty Lou Young of Derby, Kansas, andVirginia Lee Hartenburgen of Seattle, Washington. grandchildren, Leslie Kay Lane, Terri Annette Orebaugh, Shirley Geanette Withey, Wrendall All Abbott, Wrenda Tidwell, Marielle Crowell, Gabrielle Crowell; great-grandchildren, Anika Antoinette Boyd, Christopher Lane Orebaugh, Brittany Nichole Todwell, Dusty, Candi and Brandi Wagoner, Geneva Anne Crowell, Tyler Tidwell, Heather Tidwell, Cody Abbott and Chad Abbott: great-great-grandchidren, Aristotle and Nigel Boyd; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Service will be 10:a.m. Saturday at Gaskill Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Mike Craig officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery in Shawnee under the direction of Gaskill Funeral Chapel.

Paulbearers will be David Abbott, Wrendall Abbott, Bill Abbott, Shawn Tidwell, Dusti Wagoner, HOward Baird, Bo Able, Reg Whitey, Honorary paullbearers, Jack Lane and the chiurch deacons.
