George W. Kelly died at his home in Pheonix on May 3, 2006. He was born in Shelbyville, Illinois, a son of Theodore L. and Georgia Goslee Kelly. He married Helen R. McEvoy in November 1957. She survives.
Other survivors include son George Kelly, Jr. of Yuma, Arizona; four daughters Helena Wolters of Phoenix, Bridget Allison of Abilene, Texas, Karey Meysenberg of Hannibal, Mo. and Erin Kelly of Belmont, N.C.; two brothers and four sisters; and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and three sisters.
George was a journeyman meat cutter for 45 years and owned Farmers Meat Market in Davenport, Iowa. He enjoyed singing, writing poetry, fishing and volunteering at New River Senior City, Phoenix.
