Mrs Adele Jennings Brabham Passes Away at Age of 82
Mrs Adelle Jennings Brabham, who for the past few months has been a resident of Columbia, making her home with her daughter, Mrs Leroy Wilson, 1115 Barnwell street, died yesterday afternoon at the hoe of her son, Otis Brabham, in Allendale at the age of 82 years.
Mrs Brabham was the daughter of Capt and Mrs John S Jennings of old Orangeburg county and was the widow of H J Brabham, one of the pioneers of Bamberg, he having served the Bamberg Banking company as president for 25 years.
Mrs Brabham was a life long member of the Methodist church and her old home in Bamberg was headquarters for many years for visiting preachers. In her younger years she held active membership in both the DAR and UDC. She was a member of the senior class at Columbia Female College, now the Colonial Hotel, when Sherman came through in 1865 and had many interesting things to tell of Columbia in those early days.
She is survived by one sister, Mrs E ? Cleckley of Cope, and the following sons and daughters: Otis Brabham of Allendale, Henry J Brabham of Columbia, Vernon Brabham of Moultrie, Georgia, and Mrs Leroy Wilson of Columbia, and also ten grandchildren and one great grandchild.
