Clinton, Feb 14 - James Crane of College Hill, died at his home Monday afternoon after an illness of six months. He was born on a farm near Hamilton College October 2, 1851, and spent practically his whole life in the area surrounding Clinton. He was the son of the late Michael and Elizabeth Crane of Clinton. On February 11, 1873, he married Mary Finnegan and is survived by his widow and nine children, Michael Crane, Dogleville, Agnes Crane, Utica, Mrs. William Smith, Utica, Mrs. Earl Peters, Clinton, Sister Agnes Edina of St. Joseph's Convent, Binghamton, Mrs. James Doyle, New Hartford, Philip, James and Leo Crane of Clinton; a brother, John Crane, Clinton; and 23 grandchildren. He was a member of the Catholic faith and a member of St. Mary's Church.
