Donald Morgan Fudge, 57, of Cathlamet, died Dec. 19, 1998, on State Route 4 near Cathlamet, He was born Feb. 13, 1941 in Concordia, KS, to Andrew R. and Ruth Ross Fudge.

He moved to the Cathlamet area with his family at the age of 2, attended Cathlamet schools, and graduated from Wahkiakum High School in 1959. He lived in Vancouver from 1995 to 1997, then returned to Cathlamet. He was a timber faller most of his life, working for various companies, before starting Donald Fudge Contract Cutting in 1981. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, wood carving, and his family. He was a member of Cathlamet Christian Fellowship.

On Oct. 22, 1995, he married Linda Griffith, who survives, with two sons, Mike Fudge of Longview, and Brian Fudge of Cathlamet; three step-sons, Joe, Gus and Patrick Griffith of Vancouver; two step-daughters, Melody Cowan of Puget Island, and Noel Griffith of Vancouver; a brother, Martin Fudge of Malott, WA; two sisters, Myrna Brown of Boston, and Rett Baumann of Eugene; his mother, Ruth Fudge of Cathlamet; mother of his children, Carol Fudge of Cathlamet; 7 grandchildren; 14 step-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Deceased is a daughter, Kristy Fudge Wheeler who died Jan. 28, 1996, and his father who died July 21, 1986.

Services will be at noon Wednesday at J. A. Wendt Elementary School, Cathlamet, with Pastor Tim Heffer officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cathlamet.
