Gordon was born in Lynch, NE on his grandparents' homestead. He was delivered by his grandma Martha Pritchett.
He married Etta on 13 June 1964 and to this union two children were born. They lived in Valley City for most of their married life.

Gordon Pritchett, Valley City, ND, died Monday, June 30, 2008, at age 63 in his home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Survivors: wife, Etta Pritchett; son, Monte; daughter, Angela; brother, Roger; and two sisters, Donna and Janice.

The funeral is at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 5, 2008, at Grace Free Lutheran Church in Valley City with Rev. Terry Olson officiating. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery near Valley City.
A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at Lerud-Johnson-Schuldt Funeral Home.
Visitation is on Thursday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Lerud-Johnson-Schuldt Funeral Home in Valley City and one hour before service on Saturday morning.
Gordon Ray Pritchett the son of Thomas and Leona (Milacek) Pritchett, was born November 12, 1944, in Lynch, Neb., area and graduated from Center High School in 1962. After receiving his education, he enlisted with the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Finley, N.D.
On June 13, 1964 he married Henrietta Canco in Pillsbury. After their marriage, the couple lived in Finley, Fargo, Bismarck, Great Falls, Mont., and Boseman, Mont., where Gordon worked for Volkswagen Dealerships and in 1971 they moved to Valley City. Gordon worked for Dakota Auto, Napa, Valley Domes and Pamida. Gordon was active with the Valley City JayCees Club where he served as local president and was also district president. Gordon was also active in getting the Relay for Life Team started at Pamida. He enjoyed playing the guitar, singing and was an active member of Grace Free Lutheran Church in Valley City. He also enjoyed bowling. Gordon's greatest joy was his grandchildren. He was active in his grandchildren's lives, and he took them fishing, on vacations, and was always there for them/.
Gordon is survived by his wife, Etta, Valley City; one son, Monte (Lon) Pritchett, Valley City, one daughter, Angela Mortenson, Valley City; four grandchildren; one brother, Roger (Deanna) Pritchett, Bolivar, Mo.; two sisters, Donna (Richard) Bushlow, Freemont, NB; Janice (Randy) Blystone, Nevada, Mo.
Gordon was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Arbutus Tweedy and Loretta Person.
