Ona Marie (Wood, Powell, Campbell) Wilson was the daughter of Nellie Mae (McCullough) Wood and Joseph Thomas Wood. Ona's mother passed away around the time that Ona was ten years old. Joseph remarried to a woman named Emma Harriet (Wycoff) Wood who helped raise Ona.

Ona had four siblings: Elmary Lilly Wood (died as infant or young child), Charlie Joseph Wood, Clifton Cleveland Wood, and Sarah Virginia (Wood) Anderson.

She grew up in West Virginia but settled in Ohio during her adult years.

Her first husband was Carlos Ray Powell (his parents were Sara Ann (Richmond) Powell and William Vinson Powell). Their marriage ended in divorce. Her second husband Edward Ross Campbell. He left her a widow. The marriage to her third husband, Kermit Harold Wilson also ended in divorce. (Kermit Harold Wilson later passed in October 1983.)

Ona was killed in an automobile accident.

She is survived by her children: Patricia Nell (Powell, Yahoo, Brown, Blake, Higgins) Cunningham, Elsie Pauline (Powell) LeMasters, Donald Ray Powell, Sarah Mae (Powell) Likens, Dixie Lee (Campbell) Crowder, Karen Annelle (Campbell) Mathison, Alvah Ross Campbell, and Lowell Anton Campbell.
