Arthur Ray Bailey, 78, of Eleanor, formerly of Ripley, died Wednesday, Feb 6, 1991, in Jackson General Hospital after a short illness. He was retired from Devon Gas Corp. He was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, Ripley, and a former member of Emma Chapel United Methodist Church, Liberty. He was past master of Ripley Masonic Lodge No. 16, AF&AM, and Eastern Star No. 17.

Surviving: wife, Velma Johnson Bailey, daughter, Beverly Casto of Red House; mother, Bessie Hill Bailey of Wellsburg; sisters, Alice Crouser of Wheeling, Opal Stuart of New Port Ritchie, Fla., Kathryn Haines of Charleston; brother, Arnold of Jacksonville, Fla.' three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Service was Friday at Raynes Funeral Home, Buffalo, with the Rev. Edward Grant officiating.

Burial was in Emma Chapel Cemetery, Liberty, with Masonic graveside rites. The family suggest donations to Emma Chapel Church or Epworth United Methodist Church.
