COLUMBIA Funeral service for Joe A. Addison, 83, will be held at 12:00 noon Thursday, August 22, 2013, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel.
Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 21, 2013, at the funeral home.
Mr. Addison died Monday, August 19, 2013.
Born in Eastover, he was the son of the late Earl Thornwell and Hester Marie Goff Addison.
Mr. Addison graduated from Lower Richland High School and worked with the U.S. Postal Service from 1958 – 1992 retiring with 34 years of service. He was a member of McLeod United Methodist Church of Eastover.
Surviving are his children, James E. (Nancy) Addison of Lexington, Joseph D. Addison of Hopkins, Joanna A. (Kenneth) LaDuct of Virginia Beach, Va.; grandchildren, Jessica (Joe) Rowlett, Stephanie Addison, Megan Elizabeth LaDuct (C.J. Barton), Mallory Ann LaDuct, Morgan Leigh LaDuct and sister, Katherine Parrish of West Columbia.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth Ann Rubley Addison; two sisters, Nancy Frey, Alice Oswald and two brothers, Lawrence Addison and Arthur T. "Tony" Addison.
