Lloyd E. Abair, of Amery died on Sunday June 7.

He was born January 6, 1924, in the Town of Rock Elm in Pierce County. He was the son of Lloyd and Beatrice (Alexander) Abair.

He grew up in northern Wisconsin, Park Falls area. During this time he attained the highest award for Boy Scouts, The Eagle Scout Award, and was the first person to do so in Park Falls. He later moved to Chicago.

He was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Army, in Africa and the European Theater.

After the service he graduated from Northwestern University, Phi Beta Kappa. He owned and operated his own contracting business, and built homes in the Chicago Area for many years, retiring in 1990. In 1992 he moved to Amery, where he remained the rest of his life.

He is survived by one brother, Gordon Abair of Amery, three sisters; Marie Tricomi of North Hills, NY; Betty Perry of Deer Park and Louise Leekley of San Francisco, Cal., and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents.
Burial will be in Poplar Hill Cemetery-Rock Elm, rural Elmwood.
