He was born Sept. 1, 1931, in Clay County, the son of the late James Thomas Huggins and Bessie (Parsons) Huggins.
He married Mary Kay Mays on Nov. 26, 1959, in Leonard. He was a Methodist and was retired from Emerson Electric in Kennett.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Orlie Huggins.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Kay Huggins of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Sandra Huggins of Warren; two granddaughters, Gennie Huggins and Elizabeth Huggins of Warren; one brother, Clayton Huggins of Rector; and three sisters, Vernon Bell of Garner and Virginia and Vadalia Huggins of Rector.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. today (Wednesday, Sept. 24) at Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Rector with Rev. Jimmy Anderson officiating.
Burial will be in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector. Irby Funeral Home of Rector is in charge of arrangements.
