He was born August 3, 1919 in Westfield, NY the son of the late Nicholas and Pauline Ferreta Alonge.
John was a veteran of the US Army serving during WWII with the 103rd Field Artillery Battalion, 43rd Division. For his service, he was awarded the American Defense Service Medal, Philippines Liberation Ribbon, and the Asiatic/Pacific Service Medal.
Prior to his retirement, John worked at Dahlstrom Mfg for over 35 years.
He was a member of the VFW and a communicant of St James Catholic Church.
John loved sports, especially baseball, and he was an avid bowler.
Burial with full military honors will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
