Born in Troy, he was son of the late Adoor Tabakian and Mary (Tutunjian) Tabakian and husband of the late Gertrude (Balanis) Tabakian. He was born, educated and resided in Troy all his life.
Mr. Tabakian was the owner and operator of Master Cleaners in Guilderland for 25 years retiring in 2004.
He was a proud member of the Troy, NY Detachment of the Marine Corps League and a World War II veteran of the Marine Corps.
Survivors include his children, Kathleen Catone, Lynne (Vartan) Jerian, Glenn (Mary Alice) Tabakian, Mary (Kevork) Parseghian and Cynthia (Terry) Loftus; two sisters, Kay Tabakian and Rosemary (Harry) Ammian; 14 grandchildren; 9.5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son Arthur Tabakian.
