Mrs. Ernest Rickabaugh Dies

News has been received of the death of Mrs. Ernest H. Rickabaugh, formerly of Rt. 5. Mrs. Rickabaugh, who has been a resident of the Presbyterian Manor in Newton since 1969, died Thursday in the Bethel Deaconess Hospital in Newton.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Draper-Cannon Funeral Home in Newton and graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Maplewood Cemetery in Emporia. The services in Newton will be conducted by the Rev. Thomas Wentz of Newton and the graveside services will be conducted by the Rev. Judd Henry Jones, pastor of the First United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Rickabaugh was the former Eva Lewis, daughter of Thomas H. and Harriet Davis Lewis. She was born Aug. 10th, 1894, in Osage City, and she was married on Feb. 29th, 1916, in Emporia. Mrs. Rickabaugh was a member of the First Methodist Church in Emporia. She was preceded in death by her husband, who died Dec. 22nd, 1964, and by one son, Dwight, and she is survived by three sons, David D., of Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., Thomas H., of Wichita, and James E., of Gibsonia, Pa.; two daughter, Mrs. Dean Hubbart, Wichita, and Mrs. Leah McIlvain, Kansas City, Mo.; two sisters, Mesdames Frances and Ann Lafferty, both of Osage City; 17 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
