Luther C. Darby, 90, of Ridgeway, died April 19, 2001, at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County.
He was born Dec. 17, 1910, in McDowell County, W.Va., a son of the late Helen Darby and the late George Darby. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Pencie Ann Darby, and a son, Ronald W. Darby.
He served in the Marines during World War II, was employed by Martinsville Novelty and attended Trinity Friends.
Surviving are four sons, Earnest C. Darby of Martinsville, James T. Darby and Ricky Darby of Ridgeway and George L. Darby of Haynesville; a daughter, Helen A. Wolfe of Martinsville; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A graveside funeral was held Saturday at Roselawn Burial Park.
Roselawn Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
