Evansville - Alice Delores Butler, 91, passed away on March 5, 2020. She was born on October 27, 1928 to John and Janet Hendry in Chicago, Illinois.

Alice was a very caring and loving person and she was dedicated to serving others. Alice received a master's degree at UE in Group Psychology and then worked with physical therapy patients in the brain trauma rehab center. She also volunteered for Mended Hearts. Alice loved doing arts and crafts. She enjoyed writing handwritten letters and painting ceramics. She was also a big animal lover, especially cats. Above all else, she loved spending time with her family and cooking and taking care of them.

Alice is survived by her sons Craig (Rita) Butler and Brooke (Karen) Butler; her grandchildren Jason (Doria) Butler, Josh (Xuanyu) Butler, Danielle Butler, Kara Butler, Morgan Butler, Aly Butler, and Luke Butler; her great-grandson Holden Butler; her brother Malcolm Hendry; many nieces and nephews; and many gracious caretakers at Heritage Nursing Home.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband Robert Earnest Butler; her son Whitney Butler; her parents; her brother Jack Hendry; and her sisters-in-law Marie Hendry and Lorraine Hendry.

Services will be held at on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 12pm at Sunset Funeral Home and Memorial Park with a reception following. Published in Courier Press from Mar. 16 to May 19, 2021.
