Marion was first married to Phillip Hart and later to Louis Caryl Graton. Marion and Phillip moved to Jacksonville, Florida where she went to work for Spessard Holland, a good friend of Louis Graton. Holland was from Bartow, Florida and founded the Holland-Knight law firm, one of the largest in the United States at that time. When Holland was elected as Governor of Florida, he asked Marion to go to Tallahassee with him but she declined to leave Jacksonville. Holland was later elected to the Senate and authored the 23rd amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
Marion was a legal secretary for Louis Caryl Graton. After Marion and Phil's daughter Natallie had moved to Kentucky and Marion and Caryl's respective spouses had died, they were married on 5 March 1953 in New York City.
