Tony and his family immigrated to the United States when he was 10 years old. He served his country in the Army Air Force Pacific Operation during WWII. Tony retired from Ford Motor Company after 42 years of service. He enjoyed cooking, playing cards and gardening. Tony loved taking care of and playing with his beloved grandchildren. He was very social and found pleasure in visits with relatives and friends.
Along with his parents, Tony was predeceased by his brothers Samuel, Dominic and Carl.
He will be missed by his loving wife of 62 years, Silvia (Buffone) Abate; children Maryann (Neil) Johanning of Loudonville and Sam (Donna) Abate of Ballston Spa; grandchildren Nicole (Brian) Matthews, Sam Abate, Chris Johanning, Angela Johanning and Amanda (Jeremy) Lasky, and several nieces and nephews.
