Margarett A. (Walls) Lawson, 76, Helmsburg, passed on peacefully Sunday morning, Aug. 25, 2013 at the Brown County Health & Living Community in Nashville.
Margarett was born Oct. 18, 1936 in Indianapolis, to the late James H. and Bernice (Richardson) Walls. She married James William Riley Lawson Dec. 26, 1952 in Martinsville. He preceded her in death Dec. 21, 2002, after 49 loving years.
Margarett was a homemaker who enjoyed always being on the go. She enjoyed playing bingo, bird watching and visiting yard sales. Margarett cherished her time with family and friends and knew no strangers. She collected angels and enjoyed cooking and baking.
Margarett is survived by her children, Jerry Alvin Lawson of Bloomington, Bernice Lucille Lawson of Indianapolis, Susie Marie (Kevin) Addison of Morgantown, Christina Lea (Jeff) Thomas of Nashville, James W.R. (Kathy) Lawson Jr. of North Vernon and Sondra Suzanne (Lin) Batton of Edinburgh. She will be remembered by her siblings, Clarence William Walls of Martinsville and Michael Eugene Martin of Cloverdale, Indiana; 21 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Margarett was preceded in death by a daughter, Nora Ann Lawson; a sister, Carolyn Sue Martin; and a brother, Barry Alvin Martin.
A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28 at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St., Morgantown.
Friends can call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27 at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Weeping Willow Cemetery in Bean Blossom.
