Born in 1920 in Jersey City, NJ Eleanor was one of 10 children born to Matthew Glass and Anna Sterrath. Eleanor's name was originally spelled Elenore which she didn't find out until she saw her birth certificate when she got married. Eleanor met Alfred Werner when his family moved in next door in Jersey City. They married in 1942 in Jersey City and had three children. Eleanor passed away too young on June 14, 1989 from pancreatic cancer.
