Samuel Riley McCrobie, aged 79, of Hoyes, died last Thursday, August 20, at his home. He had been ill about ten months.
Mr. McCrobie was a son of the late William and Rachel Lewis McCrobie. He Was born in this county August 26, 1884, and had been a lifelong resident of the county. His wife, Rosa DeWitt McCrobie, died in 1955.
Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Hazel McCrobie, Masontown, W. Va.; Mrs. Dollie Smith, Morgantown; Mrs. Rachael Murray, Dellslow, W. Va.; Mrs. Pauline Lewis, Friendsville' Mrs. Vergie Shahan, Mon, W. Va.; two sons, Joseph and Stewart McCrobie, both of Friendsville, 29 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren; and a half-sister, Mrs. Katie Ellis, Kingwood.
Mr. McCrobie was a member of Oak Grove Church of the Brethren, near McHenry where funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock by Rev Don Matthews. Burial in the church cemetery.
