Brenda Kay Cooper Ethridge, 56, the widow of Bobby Joe Ethridge, died Monday morning, August 26, 2013, at McLeods Hospital.

Mrs. Ethridge was born June 3, 1957, in Williamsburg County. She was a daughter of William Dempsey Cooper and Dorothy Mae Martin Cooper.

She was a Foster Parent to many young children in the Mentor Foster Care System.

Bobby and Brenda were married January 30, 1976, and celebrated 36 years together.

She was survived by two daughters, Betty Jo Ethridge and Amy M. (Mikey) Jones; seven grandchildren, Taylor, Austin, Shane, Waylon, Katey, Ethan, and Jamie; three brothers, William Lindrow Cooper, Charles Cooper, and Gerald Cooper; and a sister, Betty Fund.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband; and a brother, Ernest Cooper.

Funeral services were Thursday, August 29, 2013 at The Christian Fortress Church. Burial, directed by the Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home, followed in Andrews Memorial Cemetery.
