Ray Abernathy, 72, went home to be with the Lord December 28, 2001.
Mr. Abernathy retired from Firestone and was a member of Rolling Acres Alliance Church.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Darlene; daughters, Linda (Gary) Hostler and Sue (Mike) Cromwell; sons, Harry (Sheree) Abernathy and Mark (Cindy) Abernathy; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be on Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Rolling Acres Alliance Church, 2500 Kingsport Way, Akron 44314, Pastor Gerald Morris officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Bacher Funeral Home, 3250 Greenwich Rd., NORTON, and one half hour prior to service time at the church on Monday. Memorials may be made to Rolling Acres Alliance Church in Ray's memory.
