Gordon is survived by his daughter, Beverly M. Thurston of Crozier, son, Thomas W. Thurston of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Mae C. Thurston, a sister-in-law of Richmond, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Gordon was a Veteran of World War II having served as a Navigator in the Army Air Transport Command. He is retired from C & P Telephone Company of Virginia (Now Verizon) and the U.S. Air Force Reserves.
A cryptside service at Greenwood Memorial Gardens will be held Monday, August 26 at 11 am with Rev. Michael J. Clingenpeel of River Road Church, Baptist, officiating. The family requests no flowers please.
