HARRY H. BROWN
Harry H. Brown, a well known and highly respected farmer, died at his home Friday, July 29, 1932, following an illness of several months. He was a son of the late Frank and Mina Burleigh Brown, and born in the town of Candor, which has always been his home, February 8, 1882. In August 1901, he was joined in marriage to Pearl Lane, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Lane. Of this union, three sons were born, Harold and Melvin of Endicott and Kenneth, living at home, who with the wife and mother survive. He is also survived by one brother, Arthur Brown of the town of Spencer, and one sister Mrs. Arthur Teeter of Ithaca. Funeral services, largely attended, were held at the home Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. B. L. Lyon of Meshoppin, Pa., a former pastor of the M. E. church, of which Mr. Brown had long been a member. Mr. Lyon was assisted by Rev. C. M. Adams of this village and Rev. O. H. P. Armstrong of Owego. Burial was made in Maple Grove Cemetery. Among those from out of town attending the funeral were: Mrs. Laverne Brink, Swartwood; Mrs. Harriet Rumphf and brother John Brown, and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Brainard of Binghamton; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Douglass, Mrs. Merle Bogart, Mrs. Milton VanDeMark, Mrs. Fred Johnson and daughter, Helen, Mrs. Libbie Cornick, T. C. Duff of Owego; Mr. and Mrs. Leon Jacobs, Marlea Guiles, Mr. and Mrs. L. Duncan and Bert Coons of Cortland; Rev. Willis Hull, Grant Griffith of Endicott; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hyde of Binghamton, A. J. Brown of Owego.
