CANDOR - Alton Ahart, 86, of Spencer Rd.. Candor died Wednesday, January 23, 1991 at Robert Packer Hospital.
Mr. Ahart was a member of McKendree United Methodist Church. Retired mail carrier from the Candor Post Office. A charter member of the Tioga County Garden Club. Retired sexton of Maple Grove Cemetery, Candor. And with his wife Ethel, would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in April.
In addition to his wife Ethel Ahart of Candor, he is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Richard and Virginia Ahart of South Hampton, Mass.; Alan and Jean Ahart of Candor. A daughter, Barbara Sanders of Candor. Daughters and sons-in-law Carolyn and Jim Roberts of Candor; Rita and Fred Quinlan of Candor. 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends at the McKendree United Methodist Church on Sat. Jan. 26 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Memorial Fund of The McKendree United Methodist Church of Candor. Arrangements are by the Candor Funeral Parlour, Inc.
