German Businessman and Resistance Figure. He was a Social Democrat and owned a printing press factory in Dresden. He was sentenced to death in December 1944 for helping General Fritz Lindemann, one of the main conspirators in the July 20th attempt on Hitlers life, to escape. The attempt was unsuccessful, and he was arrested in August 1944. He was executed during the night of April 22-23, 1945 by a death squad from the Reich Security Main Office along with a number of other prisoners, who are also memorialized here.
