Mrs. Nannie E. Welty, 86, of 615 S. 19th St. Herrin died at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday after a long illness. She was born Dec 13, 1875 at Harriman, TN, the daughter of Joseph and Margaret Evans Miller. Mrs. Welty was a member of the First Methodist Church in Herrin. She leaves her husband, William I., sons, Lerie od Decatur, Raymond of Herrin, Joseph of Detroit, Mich., daughters, Mrs. Della Troutman of Muncie, Ind. and Mrs. Gladys Williams of Carbondale, eight grandchildren. Two sons, Robert and Riley preceded her in death. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at the First Methodist Church, Herrin. The Rev. R.A. Denton will officiate. Burial will be in Herrin City Cemetery. Friends may call at the George Van Natta Funeral Home, Herrin.
