Robert L. Throckmorton, Sr., 75, of Holbrook, died at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, October 10, 1964, in his home after a lingering illness.

Mr. Throckmorton was born May 21, 1889, in Center Township, a son of William H. and Lucy Jane McGlumphy Throckmorton. He resided most of his life in Center Township.

He attended Grove City College and in his early life was a school teacher and rural mail carrier. Prior to his retirement 35 years ago because of ill health, he had been employed by the Citizens' National Bank and First National Bank as a teller and bookkeeper.

Mr. Throckmorton was a member of the Holbrook Christian Church where he had served as a treasurer, deacon, and elder of the church and a Sunday School teacher for a number of years. He is a former president of the Greene County Gospel Singers.

Mr. Throckmorton was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the New Castle Consistory, and Waynesburg Lodge 153, F. & A. M.

Surviving are his wife, Ella Watson Throckmorton, whom he married November 18, 1914; a daughter, Katherine, wife of Glenn R. Toothman Jr., of Waynesburg; two sons, Robert L., Jr., of Waynesburg, and William A., of Cameron Star Route, Waynesburg; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Mamie Bonham, of Waynesburg, Nellie, wife of Bert Ey, of Sycamore, R. D. 1, Mantie, wife of E. M. Bussey, of Kittery; and two brothers, James, of Waynesburg, and Victor, of Rogersville.
