Had Been Ill Several Months-Funeral Tomorrow Afternoon

John W. Browning died last night at his home, 916 Highland Avenue, after a several months' illness. His death at 9:35 p.m. resulted from Bright's Disease.

Mr. Browning was a blacksmith and came here 25 years ago from Iowa. He was nearly 77 years old. He was born in Centerville, Ia., Sept. 5, 1845. The widow and three sons, Riley and Pearl Browning of Ottawa and Charles Browning of Burlington, survive. Mr. Browning served all through the Civil war with the 124th Illinois infantry.

The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the First Christian church, with Rev. B.F. Pugh officiating. The G.A.R. will have charge of services at the grave in Hope cemetery.
