Ira Chapman McCrickard, 76, of 800 Hazelwood Lane, Martinsville, died Monday, Nov. 29,
1999, in Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County.
A native of Franklin County, he was born on Nov. 4, 1923, a son of the late Henry Clay
McCrickard and the late Lera Hicks McCrickard.
He retired from DuPont as a Solutions Department supervisor in 1986 after 38 years service.
Surviving are his wife, Marie Allman McCrickard of the home; one son, Barry McCrickard of
Martinsville; three daughters, Mrs. Steve (Myra M.) Gohmann of New Albany, Ind. and Tina M.
Craig and Mrs. Sandy (Roxanne) Collins, both of Martinsville; one sister, Ruby Barlow of
Courtland, Va.; three brothers, Aaron McCrickard of Raleigh, N.C., Willard McCrickard of
Newport News and J.B. McCrickard of Virginia Beach: and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard McCrickard.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at McKee-Stone Funeral Services chapel in
Martinsville. Dr. G.H. Vaughan and Dr. Phillip Duckett will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.
The family will receive friends at McKee-Stone Funeral Services from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.
