YANKTON, S.D. -- Debra M. Kohn, 51, of Yankton passed away Saturday, Dec. 3,
2005, at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton from an apparent heart attack.

Services will be noon Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Yankton, with
the Rev. John Fischer officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Visitation will be 1 to 9 p.m. today, with the family present at 5 p.m., a
rosary at 7 p.m. and a Scripture service at 7:30 p.m., at Kostel Funeral Home
and Crematory in Yankton.

Debra was born Feb. 4, 1954, in Yankton, to Lawrence and Margaret (Weier) Haas.
She grew up in Yankton, attending Sacred Heart School, Mount Marty High School,
then graduating from Yankton High School. She went on to attend Mount Marty
College.

While at Mount Marty College, she met Michael Kohn, whom she married in 1978.
After leaving Mount Marty College, she worked at M-Tron and the Yankton County
Observer. In 1980, she became employed in the business department of WNAX Radio,
where she remained until her death.

She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, preparing for Christmas,
rummage sales, crocheting and her pets.

She leaves with great sorrow her husband, Michael of Yankton; a daughter, Megan
of Yankton; and two brothers, David (Jeanne) Haas and Brad Haas, both of
Yankton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Roger and Steven; a
niece, Tammy; and her beloved pet, Thurston.

Pallbearers will be Larry Lanphere, Randy Rasmussen, Dan Peters, Dan Dobson,
Roger Van Der Kieft, Terry Taylor and Neil Bowes. Honorary pallbearers will be
Jeff Haas, Paul Haas, Amy Tilley, Ryan Kohn, Becky Frank, Elaine Lane, Jerry
Byrkeland and Ruth Schmidt.
