MARTINEZ, March 8.- Arthur Treleaven, a fireman employed by the Cowell and Bay Point railroad, accidentally shot and killed himself here late yesterday.
Treleaven, while making a trip to Cowell, saw a rabbit and fired at it from the cabin of the engine.
Stopping the train he alighted and went a short distance to get the rabbit that had fallen near an embankment. While going down the embankment, Treleaven stumbled over the gun, discharging it. He was found several minutes later dead with a gunshot would in his neck.
Treleaven is survived by his father and mother, who live in Martinez.
