Funeral director. Owner of Martin and Brown Funeral Directors, one of San Francisco, California finer funeral homes,with various locations over the years but eventually at Clay and Van Ness-but no longer in operation. They opened in 1911 with Arthur W. Martin as a partner. He died in 1933. Mr. Brown had been employed at Halsted and Company in the 1880's and 1890's previously. After his death, his son Neil B. Brown took charge, and this mortuary merged with Halsted in 1974.
