Prominent in Melrose; Funeral on Saturday
MELROSE, March 7 - Services for Leslie Beebe, 64, a leading member of one of this city's leading families and well known for her philanthropic and civic work, will be held at her home in Liberty Bigelow Mansion, 235 West Foster st., Saturday at 2:30. Rev. Russell Boynton will officiate. Burial will be in the family lot, Wyoming Cemetery.
Miss Beebe, who died yesterday in Santa Barbara, California, where she was spending the winter, was born here, daughter of the late Decius and Katherine E. She made her home in the Liberty Bigelow Mansion, build by her grandfather.
She was a trustee and member of the executive board of Melrose Hospital, trustee of Fitch House, member of the local Women' Club, Garden Club, Red Cross Chapter, First Congregational Church, Women's City Club, Boston.
Miss Beebe leaves two brothers, Lawrence E., Chestnut Hill, and Stuart, Haverhill; five sisters, Mrs. Henry R. Stanley, this city; Sylenda, Minneapolis; Mrs. Henry Flannery, also Minneapolis; Mrs. Arthur H. Veazey, haverhill; Mrs. Walter F. Thomas, Lowell.
