Aleene ADAMS, 79, 5727 S. 1000 West, Mentone, died at 4:55 a.m. Thursday at her residence. She was born Aug. 1, 1927, in Argos to Russell and Lucy
Mae (Pontius) Lowry. She married Jack Adams Jr. on May 21, 1949, at the Argos Christian Church.
She was a 1945 graduate of Argos High School and a homemaker. Mrs. Adams enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandchildren. She baby
sat for numerous children over the years.
Survivors include her daughter, Diane and husband Rick Landis, Macy; two sons, Dennis and wife Cindy Adams, Winona Lake, Gary and wife Jeni Adams,
Akron; five grandchildren, Heather Adams, Jamie and Ryan Adams, Jennifer and Jeremy Landis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a brother, Robert Lowry, five sisters, Geraldine Lowry, Marjorie Amos, Grace Gochenhour, Mildred Rhodes and Mary Utter.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Hartzler Funeral Home, 305 W. Rochester St., Akron. The Rev. Don Poyser will officiate. Burial will be in Akron Cemetery. Visitation is from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at Hartzler Funeral Home.
