MRS. SWADLEY DIES
Mrs Rita Margaret Swadley passed peacefully away on Thursday morning December 27th, at 7:30, at her home near Trimble, Va., after an illness of two weeks. Mrs. Swadley who was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Collingwood A. Dickson, and grand-daughter of Gen. Sir Collingwood Dickson of England, was born at the Dickson estate, south of Trimble Va., forty-six years ago. Her father came to America in 1854, marrying Mary L. McNett in 1887. Miss Rita was married to Mr Charles E. Swadley, of Highland, where she has since resided. About 1911, she lived at the Monterey Stock Farm, and moving from there, came to Monterey and spent several years during which time she endeared herself to the people of this town. She was a member of Monterey Presbyterian church, and had held several offices of the Auxiliary, of which she was a zealous and active member. Her home has been at the Dickson place for the past four or more years. Surviving Mrs. Swadley are her husband, mother, Mrs Will Armstrong and six children: Mrs. Audry Diehl, Alexandria; Miss Katherine, at home; Charles Jr.; Hot Springs; Huyler, Teddy and Dixie, at home. Three brothers survive: Kenton S. and Osborne Roy, Jacksonville, Fla.; Robert A. Weyers Cave, Va. One brother W.C. died a few years ago. Funeral service was conducted by her former pastor, the Rev T. H. Patterson, of Timber Ridge church, Lexington, assisted by Rev W.H. Hankins of Trimble and Rev A.E Johnson in Monterey Presbyterian church, Friday afternoon at 3 o’clock. She was laid to rest in the family plot in Monterey Cemetery, beneath a mound of beautiful flowers.

The marriage of Miss Reta Dickson, the eldest daughter of Mr. Collingwood Dickson, of Trimble. Va. and Mr. Charles Swadley of Vanderpool is announced to take place at Hamilton Chapel, May 17, at 3 o'clock.
