IRON MOUNTAIN - Irene C. "Loop" Schinderle, 84, of Iron Mountain, died Saturday, May 10, 2008, at her home. She was born on April 4, 1924, in Iron Mountain, the daughter of the late John and Mary (Kattnig) Schinderle.
Loop worked for more than 50 years in the grocery business, working at the Anderson and Johnson Grocery Store and at Oliva's Market. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Loop was one of a kind. She enjoyed telling jokes and her favorite saying was "Let it go for a buck eighty." She played golf, softball, tennis, and cards. She also bowled and went on the Sunday bus trips to the casino.
She is survived by three nieces, Mary Ann (Aaron) Wyble of Kingsford, Kay (Ted) Votaw of Lafayette, Colo., and Jean Williamson of Florida;
one nephew, David Johnson of Glenwood Springs, Colo.;
two great-nieces, Laine and Kristen Johnson, and many special cousins and friends.
Loop was preceded in death by three brothers: Alfred, John and Albert Schinderle;
and four sisters, Johanna Schinderle, Mary Bean, Eleanor Polglase, and Veronica Schinderle.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Tondin-Ross and Freeman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Rev. David Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in Cemetery Park.
