Bark River-Archie W. Freeman, 90, of 5228 I Road, died Monday, Nov. 2, at home.
He was born June 3, 1902, in Freeman, Ind. He married the former Lillian O. Hendricks Dec. 31, 1919.
He worked for 22 years as general manager of Clairmont Transfer Co., retiring in 1967.
He was a member of Escanaba Elks Lodge 354, Escanaba Country Club and Highland Golf Club. He was the oldest living member of Escanaba Lions Club and had been a 41-year member of United Commercial Travelers.
Survivors include: his wife, Lillian: two sons, Lloyd of Iron Mountain, and Richard of Escanaba; four daughters, Mrs. Ruth Eastburn, Seattle, Mrs. Jerry (Kathryn) Borges and Mrs. Bettie Maddox, Milwaukee, and Mrs. Ronald (Joan C.) Anderson, Gladstone; one brother, Herbert of Bloomington, Ind.; 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, two nieces, and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by two grandchildren.
Friends may call at Boyce Funeral home from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday. Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. with Rev. Ronald C. Swanson of First Lutheran Church, Gladstone, officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Rest Cemetery.
