He was born March 17, 1897 in Sheboygan, the son of the late Charles and Ingeborg Andersen. He attended Longfellow Grade School and graduated from Sheboygan High School in 1915.
During World War I, he served in the U. S. Army as a Private.
On October 20, 1933, he married Esther Beisser of Plymouth at Salem Reformed Church in Plymouth.
“Andy” Andersen began his career with Citizens Bank in 1925 and retired in 1962 as assistant vice-president, the same year that he was elected to the County Board serving as Sheboygan County Supervisor. He served three years as president of the Sheboygan Credit Bureau and for 40 years he was director and treasurer of the Civic Music Association.
He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Sheboygan and served as congregation president for two years and was a church consistory member for 12 years. He was head usher and past president of the Men’s Brotherhood.
He was a 50 year member of the Sheboygan Masonic Lodge 11 F&AM, he was also a member of Harmony Chapter 10.
He was a past commander and life member of Prescott-Bayens American Legion Post 83.
Surviving are his widow and a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Neudeck of Sheboygan.
Preceding him in death were a sister and brother.
Sheboygan Masonic Lodge 11 will hold a memorial service on Wednesday, October 1, 1975. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 2, 1975 at Zion United Church of Christ in Sheboygan. The Rev. George Mohr, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery in Sheboygan.
