Francis MAGENNIS was born in County Down, Ireland. He sailed on the Earl of Londsdale to Liverpool. He then sailed on Warsaw for New York. He arrived at New York City on 18 Sep 1841.

Francis MAGENNIS was married three times.

He married first to Laura Ann CRANDALL, daughter of Horace Powell CRANDALL and Louis BATEMAN, on 21 Jul 1849 in Albion, Calhoun Co., Michigan. They had one son named Charles Hudson MAGENNIS born on 2 Jul 1850 in Grand Rapids, Kent Co., Michigan (not in Albion). She died a few weeks later on 26 Jul 1851 in Grand Rapids.

He remarried to widowed Mrs. Mary BETTS or BETZ Lester in about 1852 or so in Michigan. She had two young children Martha J LESTER and William V LESTER from her previous marriage. Mary died in 1 Jun 1881. They had no issue.

Francis married again to Mrs. Louisa BLACKHURST Eslow on 15 Aug 1882 in Albion, Calhoun Co., Michigan. They had no issue. After he died, she remarried to widowed Charles Henry PECK, her 4th marriage.
