The census of 1940 listed John's occupation at a garage as an auto finisher. The Hammarbecks' new address was 111 Fairfield Street, Worcester.
John's name was found on a passenger list for a ship that sailed in 1935 from Gothenburg, Sweden to the port of New York City. The voyage took from June 18th until June 27th to complete. The list was very nicely typewritten. Mr. Hammarbeck's middle name, August, was discovered on the document. Also, we learn that he became a naturalized U.S. citizen on September 30, 1929 at Fitchburg, Massachusetts. His home address, 66 Rowena St. at Worcester., confirms that he is the same man.
