Born in Nelliston, July 9 1872, he was the son of Ignatius (Enoch) and Mary T. Prall. He lived most of his life in the Town of Palatine. He and his wife Aurelia May Sitterly were married on July 4, 1896. They had 12 children. 7 boys: John J., Leon R., Joseph, Wellington, Jacob Jr., Edmund & 1 unknown. 5 girls; Catherine, Gerturde, Lillian, Agnes, & Alberta.
